BLISCare works behind the scenes with the hospital and the surgeon, like a “factory warranty,” rather than traditional insurance. While it is not health insurance for the patient, BLISCare is an insurance coverage plan that protects patients from medical expenses related to possible complications. BLISCare pays for all possible complications related to weight loss surgery. This is a huge benefit, since your medical insurance will most likely not pay for unforeseen complications if the medical insurance did not cover the original bariatric procedure. The length of protection is typically a 90-day global period, but patients may opt to add protection for up to 18 months.

The cost of BLISCare is included in our self-pay price, and our patients who experience complications have no financial responsibility for complication-related care. BLIS also offers a patient financing solution in partnership with ChaseHealthAdvance called BLISPay, with credit limits up to $20,000 available to qualified applicants, which can be used to pay for surgery.
